What a CS2 case farm actually earns

Updated: 2026-07-17

A CS2 case farm's income is drops times market price, minus marketplace fees and costs: Prime statuses, hardware, electricity and — above all — the time of the human who plays. There is no fixed 'dollars per month' number: case prices are volatile and the reward pool changes whenever Valve decides.

Below is an honest calculation frame you can fill with current market prices.

How is revenue built?

The base unit is one Prime account's weekly reward. Everything then multiplies by the number of accounts a human can actually play through.

  • Accounts × 1 weekly drop — the upper bound of drops per week.
  • Average drop price — check current case and skin prices on the Steam market.
  • Minus the marketplace fee on every sale (roughly 13–15%).

Which costs eat the margin?

A farm's main cost lines
CostOne-time or recurringNote
Prime per accountOne-timeThe main upfront investment; lost on ban
Hardware (RAM, SSD, network)One-time32 GB RAM + SSD handles 16–32 accounts
Electricity and internetRecurringGrows with concurrent clients
Player timeRecurringGameplay is human — the real limit on scale

Why are '$X per month' promises misleading?

Panel sellers love fixed income figures, but honest math doesn't work that way: case prices swing multiples depending on the pool, hype and Valve's decisions, and the mass autofarm those promises are built on is precisely the main ban trigger that zeroes the investment.

Our position: compute with current prices, budget for volatility and ban risk, and don't pay for promises of passive income — this model has none, because a human does the playing.

Frequently asked questions

How much does one CS2 account earn per week?

It depends on the current reward pool and market prices: from tens of cents to a few dollars per drop. Multiply the current drop price by your account count and subtract the marketplace fee — that is your real revenue.

Is case farming passive income?

No. Without gameplay automation (which leads to bans), drops are earned by playing. FarmPanel removes the operational busywork, but player time remains the biggest cost.
